CHICOPEE-Nino Pompi Jr., 57, died Saturday in Noble Hospital. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Nino and Carmella Pompi, grew up in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School. He worked as a machinist for WEPCO in Westfield. He leaves three daughters, Nina M. Paton and her husband Nicholas, Tanya A. Docherty and her husband Joshua and Antoinette L. Pompi, all of Chicopee, four brothers, Carmino of Springfield, Paul of S.C., Louis of Enfield and Dominic of Southwick, two sisters, Maria Kelsey of Westfield and Carmella Rios of Springfield, three grandchildren, Joseph Parent, Jason Docherty and Cadence Paton, eight nieces, eight nephews and his great friend Efrain Flores Jr. of Westfield. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10 am at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parish Cupboard, 1023 Main St., W. Springfield, MA 01089.
