Norma J. (Riccio) Barnack, passed away peacefull surrounded by her family on February 24, 2023. She was 92. Predeceased by her husband, Henry C. Barnack in 2000, Norma is survived by her daughter Belle Barnack-Guzman and her son-in-law, Pedro Guzman of Sarasota, FL, and her son, Henry C. Barnack, Jr. of West Springfield. Born in Hartford, CT, Norma lived most of her life in West Springfield. Educated at UConn and receiving a masters degree in education at Springfield College, Norma taught in the Springfield School System in the bi-lingual program for elementary school students. Norma traveled to many interesting places in the world. On one of her trips to Santa Marta, Colombia, she fell in loved with the children of a remote village which inspired her to write a children's book: "Kiko Has A Dream". She was an avid reader and enjoyed philosophy, Spanish literature and poetry. Their home was filled with multi-cultural music, art, food and people. She was a great cook who loved to entertain her family and friends. Norma was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Calling hours are Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 from 2-5pm at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield, MA.
