April 16, 1950 – November 10, 2024
Norman C. Burns, 74, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Born in Montpelier, Vermont, son of the late Norman Burns and Janice (Leno) Bragdon, he moved to West Springfield in 1955. Norman was an independent courier for banking facilities. He was also a very proud Vietnam Marine Corp Veteran. He was very active with many of the Marine Corp organizations. He was the quartermaster and past commander of the VFW Post 6714, a past quarter master of the VVMI, a member of the American Legion Post 124 in Westfield and the Disabled American Veterans in Chicopee. Some of the military awards he received were the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with three stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the RVN Cross of Gallantry and the Combat Action Ribbon. He leaves his wife of forty-six years, Jeanne (Lamoureaux) Burns, two sons, Norman A. Burns and his wife Jennie of Westborough, Sean M. Burns and his wife Tracy of Ludlow, a brother, Michael Burns of Vermont and three grandchildren, Grace Burns, Riley Burns and Cayden Burns. He was predeceased by a sister, Cynthia Burns. Calling hours are Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4-7pm at the Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 7pm.
