Norman E. Cross

1933 – 2023

CHICOPEE – Norman E. Cross, 89, died peacefully Monday evening surrounded by his loving family.  Norman was born and raised in Springfield before moving to Chicopee in 1960.  He was a longtime Service Technician for the Xerox Corporation retiring in 1985.  Norman proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as an Air Traffic Controller and later in the Reserves as a Radio Man.  His wife of 60 years Joan (Martin) Cross died in 2018.  He leaves three children Diana Harper, Thomas Cross and his wife Olga, and Deb Burke and her husband David: five grandchildren, Emma, Joseph and Marci Cross, Jessica (Burke) Fitzpatrick and Liam Burke and a great granddaughter Ada.  Besides his wife, Norman was predeceased by a son Michael, daughter Linda and his siblings Raymond and Richard Cross and Jacqueline Breault.  A private funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com .  Memorial contributions may be made to the "Wounded Warrior Project" at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
