Obituary

Norman or "Stormin' Norman" as some referred to him, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at Holyoke Health Care Center. He was predeceased by a newborn daughter Heidi, as well as his brothers Henry Morrissette of Ware and Arthur Morrissette of North Brookfield. He leaves behind his daughter Jill Gravel Combs and her husband Walter of Ware. His grandchildren Ashley Gravel and Jason Gravel and his wife Chandra, all of Ware. Also his great grand children Landon Kosla and Pandora and Logan Gravel. As well as his longtime partner and soul mate Evelyn Marie Beaulieu of Chicopee who never left his side and her children Janine and Jeffrey. Born in Fall River Norman moved to Ware as a child. He graduated from Ware High School in 1950 where he received many football awards. He then enlisted in the Navy stationed at Norfolk, VA on the USS Borderlaine until 1954. Norman worked many jobs locally through the years but his pride was opening his own business on Main Street in the 1970's. He was active in the Ware Community including serving on the finance committee, member of Rotary Club, VFW and the United Church where he was a member of the choir. Norman loved his family and his friends with all his heart, He always had a smile on his face and an entertaining sense of humor. He had a fabulous voice and enjoyed karaoke. His favorite place was at the Ocean. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home in South Hadley is in charge. There are no calling hours. There will be a service to celebrate his life at the Second Baptist Church, 589 Granby Road, in South Hadley at 1PM on Thursday, April 11th. The family invites you to join them in the church hall immediately following the service for lunch. A cemetery service with veterans honors will take place at a later date.
