Obituary

Normand A. Picard, 69, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 20, 2016.  Born in Holyoke, son of the late Henry A. and Leona E. (Tetreault) Picard, he grew up in Easthampton and was a 1966 graduate of Easthampton High School.  He moved to Chicopee in 1986.  Normand worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty-four years before he retired.  He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and a Disabled American Veteran.  He was a Department Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the United Church of Christ in Chicopee.  His wife, Linda R. (Lavertu) Picard died on October 24, 2010.  He leaves two sons, Stephen R. Picard of Ludlow, Danny W. Picard of Bossier City, LA, two brothers, Donald H. Picard of Edgewater, FL, Ronald Picard of Columbia, SC, and a sister, Theresa Carey of Southampton.  He was predeceased by a son, Richard N. Picard in 1979.  The funeral will be Sunday at 3pm at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street. The burial will be private in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 12-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org
