Obituary

Olga J. (Diamond) Lake, 89, died Wednesday at the Jewish Nursing Home. Olga was raised in Harrisburg, PA where she graduated from John Harris High School and later continued her studies graduating from Lasell College in Boston. She relocated to Springfield working as a saleswoman in several woman's apparel specialty shops and as writer at her brother-in-law's Springfield radio station WJKO. Olga loved to travel with her husband and dedicated her life to her family. She was a communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and she was a member of the Philoptochos Society. Olga's family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staffs of Baystate Medical Center and JGS Lifecare Nursing Home for their professional, considerate care. She leaves her daughter Pamela Lake of Longmeadow, her son Peter Lake and his wife Patricia of Chicopee, a grandson Louis Lake of Boston and several dearly beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Louis, her parents Dennis and Mena (Psomas) Diamond and her sister Kay Manitsas. Friends and family are invited to go directly to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Saturday where Olga will Lie in State (a calling hour) from 9 to 10 am followed by a funeral service at 10 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
