EAST LONGMEADOW - Olive Mildred (Simpson) Beers, 95, died March 5, 2016 in Bradenton, FL. Born in Canton, MA, daughter of the late Lewis and Edith (Little) Simpson, she lived in East Longmeadow most of her life, moving to Bradenton five years ago. She was a retired inspector for Smith & Wesson. She was the last survivor of seven siblings. Mildred was a member of the Morning Glory Walkers and a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Her husband of fifty years, Rollin C. Beers died on February 18, 2014. She leaves her children, Linda Kjellberg and her husband Bob of Maryland, Sandra Russell and her husband Charles of Florida, Jack Wheeler of East Longmeadow, 11 grandchildren, Vicky, Erica, Richard, William, Arthur, Ellen, Julie, Scott, Steven, Kevin, Kyle, and thirteen great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
