Patricia B Burke

West Springfield - Patricia (Dineen) Burke 88, formally of West Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday December 13, 2022. She was born in Springfield, MA to the late Patrick and Johanna Dineen of Hungry Hill. Pat was a graduate of Cathedral High School class of 1953 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the "last daisy dames". Pat moved to West Springfield and was a proud member of West Side Football's "Gridiron Moms" She served a meal in her home to all the senior football players (82-83) before their final game. Pat loved to host family and friends into her home, and it was often a meeting place. Pat loved her Irish heritage and could be found supporting her nieces in Irish step dancing competitions or getting a gang together on the Cape to listen to Irish bands. She was a proud member of the "Dinny club" a group of cousins who got together for fellowship. Pat spent her summers on her beloved Cape Cod on Wrinkle Point, West Dennis. She had many close friendships with the other residents. Pat loved to walk the beach before breakfast to find washed ashore treasures, and ride in her son Tim's boat with the family dog "Shannon". After her retirement from the Hampden County Sheriff's Department, Pat spent a lot of time traveling with her grandson Patrick and they shared many great memories together. Pat joins her beloved son Tim (2003), Parents and Sister in heaven. She is survived by her son Michael Burke and Daughter in law Johanna Burke of Belmont Ma, Grandson Patrick and granddaughter Mia Isabella Burke of Belmont Ma. A celebration of life will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home, Wednesday December 21, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm. A private burial will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Dennis, MA*.
