Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Patricia A. (Lamothe) Lyas, 66, passed away on Tuesday May 5th with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 19, 1948, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mafalda T. (Buldrini) Lamothe. She was also predeceased by her sister Kathyrn Maia. She is survived by her two devoted daughters Annmarie Lyas and Nicole Mateo and son-in-law Frank Borrero, her loving granddaughter Jazsarie Crespo "the sunshine of her life", her sisters Theresa Lamothe and Carol McGurn of Agawam and her brother Joseph Lamothe of New Orleans. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Kathy Bryant and many many friends and children who referred to her as Mom or Grandma. Pat was educated in the Springfield Public School System and remained a lifelong resident of Springfield. She worked for Open Pantry Community Services for many years until she became ill. Pat loved writing poetry and crafting silk flower arrangements. When she was well enough she loved going to Hobby Lobby and browse the isles for as long as her heath would allow, which was not very long. She also loved all animals, especially her cat Princess. Pat had a wonderful sense of humor. Her tenacity and strong will presented itself even in the depths of her illness. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to those who were personally involved in Pat's compassionate care and treatment during her illness, especially Baystate Medical Center, Heritage South and Heritage Dialysis Center. There will be no calling hours Family and friends are invited to attend a burial service at St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 am.
