Patricia (Pat) Ann Murphy of Springfield passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital on February 16, 2021. Pat was born on January 12, 1938 in Springfield, Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents John Patrick Murphy and Evelyn Ford Murphy. Pat worked for the Springfield School Department for 30 years at the Onward With Learning (OWL) center at the YMCA and retired in 2000. She loved her students and coworkers and conducted GED testing at the Westover Job Corps Center every month for underprivileged youth. Pat was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish and an avid Bingo player throughout the region. She loved to play cards with her friends and was a huge Red Sox fan. Pat is survived by her son Michael Murphy (Utah) and his wife Anita, 2 grandchildren Collin (California) & Alicia (Tennessee) Murphy, her brother David Murphy Sr., and 3 nephews David Jr., William, and Thomas Murphy, all from Springfield.
