Patricia A. (Nelson) Poulin, 59, passed peacefully on, June 15, 2016, surrounded by her husband Conrad, of thirty-four years and her sons, Michael & Benjamin. Born in Cambridge, daughter of the late Horatio J. and Patricia A. (O'Leary) Nelson, she lived in South Hadley for many years. She was a 1974 graduate of Canton High School. Patricia was a reading interventionist who enjoyed teaching children to read and encouraging their curiosity and interests. Patti's favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and friends. She loved Sunday country rides, hiking with her side kick Belle, gardening, reading, cooking and long, lazy days at the beach. She leaves her husband, Conrad Poulin, two sons, Michael Poulin of South Hadley, Benjamin Poulin of Brooklyn, three brothers and their wives, Stephen and Nancy Nelson of Rochester, NY, Thomas and Karen Nelson of Southwick, Michael and Bernadette Nelson of Lakeville, a sister and her husband, Kathleen and Victor Solano of South Hadley, and extended family members, Marilyn Cormier, of Middleboro, MA, and Hilary Wallis, of Newfield, ME, three brothers-in-law, Guy Poulin and his wife Kimberly of Telluride, CO, Michael Poulin and his wife Mary of Belchertown, and Christopher Poulin of West Springfield. She also leaves nineteen nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Saturday from 2-5pm at the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street. There is no funeral service. She has asked that you pay it forward in her memory and give to a charity that is important to you.
