Paul M. Hegedus, 66, died peacefully, Friday December 30, 2016 at Wingate West Springfield, surrounded by his family. He was born in Springfield, lived in West Springfield most of his life and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. Paul was a retired truck driver who loved hunting and fishing. He was a long time, forever Patriots fan. He is predeceased by his beloved mother Pauline (Petrin) Hegedus in 1972 from West Springfield, his father Michael Hegedus in 2002 from Muncie IN, a very cherished aunt and uncle whom were more like his parents, Anita Petrin-Nowill in 1995 and Warren Nowill in 2009 from West Springfield. He also was predeceased by a younger brother Warren Roy Hegedus in 1998 from Paoli, IN. Paul leaves his wife of 43 years, Rose (Dupuis) Hegedus, a son, Sean Hegedus, two daughters, Desiree and Ashley Hegedus, all of West Springfield, a brother, Dennis and his wife Anne of Chino Hills, CA, his step-mother, Ruth Hegedus of Muncie IN, his sisters, Cheryl her husband Rick Fisher of Colon, MI and Debbie Hegedus-Brown of AL, his cousins, Michael Nowill his wife LuAnn of Agawam, Donald Nowill and his companion Debbie of Hamden, CT, Carlene Nowill of West Springfield, and three grandchildren, Taylor, Madison and Athena. He leaves many nieces and nephews, and longtime friends. He also leaves supportive and cherished neighbors, Syrah, PJ, August "Buggy" and Pete Assarian. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9am from the WEST SPRINGFIELD CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 109 Main Street with a Mass in St. Thomas Church at 10. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
