WEST SPRINGFIELD-Philip J. Deveno, 64, died Friday surrounded by his family and friends. He was retired from Verizon and L.P. VEC Bus Company, where he was known as "Bus Driver Phil" at Tatham School. He worked part time at Stop and Shop where they called him "trouble". Phil loved coaching softball, watching his Red Sox and Hampton Beach. He loved telling horse stories about the Deveno Family Stables. Phil was a former WSHS Band parent and communicant of St. Ann's Church where he was an usher. He leaves his wife Roberta (Plamondon) Deveno, a son Anthony Deveno and a daughter Alicia Deveno, all of West Springfield, a brother Michael Deveno and his wife Liz of Wilton, NY, two sisters Debra A. Deveno of South Hadley and Tina Deveno of Palm Harbor, FL, sister-in-laws Pauline Plamondon of West Springfield and Lorilee Deveno and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Alice Deveno and his brother Paul Deveno. The funeral Mass will Wednesday at 11 am in St. Thomas Church.
