Philip Froebel, 62 of West Springfield passed away peacefully at home on February 15th, 2020.

Philip was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on July 21st, 1957. The son of late Herman Froebel and Beverly Steele. He joins his brothers Fredrick, Michael and James in heaven. He is predeceased by his sister Cheryl Vieira and husband Julio Vieira of Ludlow, Mass and half sister Tina Mazzola of Florida.

He leaves behind his three children, Kayla Froebel of West Springfield, Justin Froebel of Chicopee and Courtney Froebel of Chicopee whom he shared with ex-wife Kimberly Fiala of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He cherished his grandchildren Dylan Froebel, Finnegan and Abigail Granger. He was a beloved father and grandfather, His children, grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He spoke to them all daily his love and devotion to his family was endless.

Phil was never short of work, always finding jobs and helping friends. He truly was a jack of all trades. He especially enjoyed his volunteer work for half moon sober festival and sober in the sun where you could find him joyfully riding around in his golf cart. He was a friend to many and shared a special relationship with his uncle Fred and his many nieces and nephews. Philip was selfless and kind to all. He was always positive and full of optimism even while battling Lymphoma. He was grateful for his second chance and celebrated being in remission after his successful bone marrow transplant given to him by son, Justin in 2017.He was a pillar of strength and friendly face for so many. His memory will be cherished and he will be missed dearly.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 22nd from 2-5pm at Curran-Jones Funeral Home on 109 Main St. in West Springfield.
