Phyllis Mason

1935 – 2019

Agawam – Phyllis (Franklin) Mason, 84, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Ruskin, Florida.  Phyllis was born in Springfield, grew up in West Springfield and lived in Feeding Hills 40 years.  She moved to the Cape in 1997 and Ruskin, FL in 2018.  She was the Executive Director of the Agawam Housing Authority until her retirement in 1996.  A longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Feeding Hills and Christ the King Church in Mashpee, she was also a member of the Red Hat Society on the Cape.  Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Gerald J. Mason and leaves two sons Roger Mason and his wife Maureen and  Edward Mason and his wife Joanne.  She also leaves a brother Donald Franklin, sister Virginia Danforth; three granddaughters Brittany Sue Mason, Lauren Johnson and Holly Mason and two great grandchildren Zoe and Sylas.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 9:30am with liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 11:00am followed by burial in the Springfield Street Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30am.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
