Obituary

Phyllis Ann Weinle, 66, of Feeding Hills passed away peacefully in her home on July 22, 2020.  She was born June 9, 1954 where she grew up in West Springfield.  Phyllis was a graduate of West Springfield High School.  Daughter of the late Anna and Joseph Gusek, and caring sister to the late Evelyn Phelan, late Stephen Gusek and Michael Gusek.  She met her soul mate and loving husband, the late John Nicholas Weinle III, while they were working at the Big Y in Westfield.  She was in need of a ride home following her shift and a random act of kindness from a stranger, became her lifelong partner and team mate.  They were inseparable and did everything together.  Their four greatest creations were the children who they loved dearly.  Phyllis truly enjoyed and embraced her role as a mother.  She taught her children the importance of being nice to each other, how to get your work done in the morning so you could relax and enjoy the rest of the day, as she was a sun worshiper.  She took great pleasure driving her white Camaro while listening and singing along to the music.  As a lover of nature she encouraged her children to appreciate caring for the family yard filled with flowers, a vegetable garden and beautiful trees while playing music throughout the day.  The family enjoyed many outdoor activities together such as walks in the woods, at Stanley Park, as well as along the railroad tracks, going to the beach and the annual outings at the Big E.  Phyllis took an active role in her children's activities and was a member of the PTA.  She loved sharing funny stories with people to bring laughter to many situations and made many dear friends along the way.  One of her greatest joys was becoming a Grandmother and spending time with her Granddaughter. She is now reunited with her late son Michael Joseph Weinle and leaves behind her daughter, Nicole Ann Banspach, her husband Robert Banspach, daughter Melissa Ann Weinle a/k/a Melissa Micheala Dorman and her husband John Dorman, and their daughter Emma Leigh Dorman, and son John Nicholas Weinle IV, brother in law Robert Phelan and his four children Andrea Mercure, Jennifer Phelan, William Phelan and Lori Phelan along with many great nieces and nephews, her brother Michael Gusek and his wife Cindy, sister in law Patricia Morris her husband Matthew Pflugi, and sister in law Nancy and her husband Bruce Colllina.  There will be calling hours on Saturday August 1 st , at Curran Jones Funeral Home from 10:00 – 11:30 am, located at 745 Cooper Street, Agawam, MA followed by a brief service and burial at Saint Thomas Cemetery located at 426 Kings Highway, West Springfield, MA.  Face masks will be mandatory at wake and burial.  Donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA in the name of John and Phyllis Weinle.
