Priscilla M. Magagnoli

FEEDING HILLS – Priscilla "Marie" (Gossman) Hooper Magagnoli, 95, of Paul Revere Drive, passed away peacefully at Noble Hospital on Friday November 19, 2010. She was born on July 27, 1915 to the late Joseph and May (Starkey) Gossman in Crooksville, Ohio. She grew up in Springfield and attended the Cathedral Schools. She worked at the Buxton Company in Agawam and Sears & Roebuck in West Springfield for many years, retiring from Sears. She was active with the Agawam Grange, the Agawam and West Springfield Senior Centers for many years, much of it working on the Bingo games. She was also a talented person who crocheted many afghans which she gave away or donated for raffles. Priscilla also played a clown for about 15 years, during which time she marched in many town parades. She married Herman "Bob" Hooper in 1939 and they moved to Agawam. He predeceased her in 1963. She later married Orpheo Magagnoli who also predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her daughters Rose-Marie Fleury, and Eleanor Coventry, her brothers Clement and Joseph Gossman and her sister Ruth Leger. She leaves behind her daughters Priscilla "Kitty" Codding of Westfield and Carol Wheeler of Wales, fifteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:00am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church, Feeding Hills at 10:00am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
