Raymond J. Eldredge
1934 – 2011

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Raymond J. Eldredge, 77, of Riverdale Street died Sunday July 3, 2011 in the Holyoke Soldier's Home. Raymond was born in Brooklyn, NY, lived in the Western Massachusetts area most of his life, West Springfield since 1984. He drove the handicap van for 22 years with the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority retiring in 2008. Raymond served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars with the United States Army. He was an avid bowler and played in many leagues in the area. He leaves two sons Raymond II of Cape Cod, Whitney of Chicopee; three daughters Ramona Etter of Jacksonville, FL, Esther Rich of Monson and Donna Ouellette of Hamden; a sister Carolyn Myers of East Longmeadow; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He also leaves a dear friend Jan Grimaldi and his pets Snoopy and Honey Cat. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baystate VNA and Hospice.
