1936 – 2019

AGAWAM – Rene L. Jarry, 82, of Quail Run died Saturday in Mercy Hospital.     Rene was born in Springfield, grew up in East Longmeadow, graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954 and has lived in Agawam since 1998.  He retired from Hamilton Standard after 30 years in Production Control.  After retirement he drove cars for the Longmeadow Motor Car Company.  A communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Rene was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50 in Enfield.  He was an active pool player at the Agawam Senior Center and helped run the Gates Avenue Neighborhood Reunion.  He served in the United States Army.  He leaves his wife Maryann (Krawczyk) Jarry; two daughters Alisa Smith and Annmarie House; a brother Normand; two sisters Lorraine Seeley and Anita Mathews; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son Thomas Jarry.  The funeral will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church Friday 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
