Rene "Butch" Thibault, 62, passed away Saturday night with his family by his side. Born and raised in the North End of Springfield, MA, he was the son of Roger and Gloria Thibault. He moved his family to West Springfield in 1999 and was a part of that community ever since. A savvy businessman, he single handedly built a successful oil company, Thibault Fuel LLC, from the ground up with no formal training. His hard work and determination were fueled by his desire to provide for his family. "Butchie T" was a larger than life personality whose charm and generosity touched many. Over the years, he sponsored numerous sports leagues and teams, and made many contributions within his community. Butch was married to the love of his life, Beatrice (Scheible) Thibault, for 40 years and was a proud father to his four sons. He leaves behind his sons Christopher and his wife Melissa, Michael and his wife Jocelyn, son Daniel, and daughter-in-law Brielynn; grandson Brayden Boyle and granddaughters Skylar and Cassidy. Butch was predeceased by his parents Roger and Gloria Thibault, beloved son Brandon, sister Theresa, and brother Gary. He leaves behind siblings Deborah Couture and husband John Letender, Pauline Picard, and Yvonne Ghazarian and husband Vegan. Butch also leaves behind his dear friend George Newman and his wife Marilyn, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was laid to rest in a private burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. He will forever be loved and missed by many. Curran-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
