HOLYOKE – Rhonda M. Laizer, 48, died Thursday suddenly in Baystate Medical Center after complications due to cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Rhonda was born in Holyoke the daughter of Judith (Roch) Starke and the late Richard Laizer. She grew up in Chicopee and attended Chicopee Schools. She has lived in Holyoke for the past 10 years. Besides her mother she leaves her four daughters Sara Laizer, Kaylee (Laizer) Piela, Jade Laizer, and Paige Schafer; her partner Robert Schafer; three brothers Richard, Robert and Eric Laizer; two grandchildren Avery Cockerill and Marlie Fuentes and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was a free spirit with a contagious laugh. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
