Richard A. Bruso Sr.

1941 – 2020

WARE – Richard A. Bruso Sr., 78, of Beaver Road, died Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family.  Richard was born in Springfield and lived in West Springfield until he moved to Ware 24 years ago.  He worked for Stamford Wrecking and was a member of the local 98 Union of Operating Engineers. After retirement he and his wife, Lois, opened Bruso Liquor Mart in Ware and Palmer.  His wife of 48 years, Lois A. (Negrucci) Bruso died in 2009.  He leaves three sons Richard A. Jr., Daniel and his wife Holly and Michael and his wife Holly; ten grandchildren Richard Bruso III, Ginny Davis, Christina Miller, Christopher, Anthony,  Jessica Gonthier, Amanda, Branden, Kimberly, and Jacob Bruso, five great grandchildren Edward, Tyler, Hadley, Jordan and A.J.; and his siblings Leonard and his wife Janet,  Donald and his wife Tina, George and his wife Linda Bruso, Gerri Lander and her husband Joe, Madeline LaFlamme, Norma Hamel and her husband Norman He also leaves a sister-in-law, Cleta Graziano.  Besides his wife, Richard was predeceased by a son David Bruso and a sister Anita Levesque.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday, March 18th at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice , 36 Williams St. Leominster, MA 01453.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
