Richard B. Cecchetelli Sr.
1932 – 2016

CHICOPEE – Richard B. Cecchetelli Sr., 84, of Gelinas Drive died Saturday, November 12, 2016 in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in the Bronx, February 16, 1932, the son of the late Domenico and Ada (Carboni) Cecchetelli. He lived in Springfield before moving to Chicopee in 1962. He retired as a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for the Rex Chain Belt Company and was active in both bowling and golf leagues at work. He was an Airman First Class for the United States Air Force 7030th Support Squad during the Korean War. He leaves his wife of 59-years Kathryn (Margarites) Cecchetelli; a son Richard of Ellington, CT and daughter Karen Thresher and her husband Brian of Chicopee. He also leaves his brother Domenic; three sisters Louise Terzi, Frances Nigro and Mary Gay and four grandchildren Gina and Alyssa Cecchetelli and Brianna and April Thresher. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday, November 21st from 4:00 – 7:00pm. A private burial will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
