Richard R. Holmes, 78, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Baystate Medical center. Born in Ludlow, son of the late Robert and Mary (Richardson) Holmes, he lived most of his life in Agawam.  Richard had worked at Crestview Country Club and for Jet Tool, both for many years.  He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.  Richard enjoyed listening to Irish music, playing pool and loved going out to eat.  He also loved to go camping and racing. He leaves three sons, Randall S. Holmes, Sr. of Agawam, William Grimaldi of West Springfield, James Grimaldi of Southwick, three daughters, Jennifer Holmes of Agawam, Lori Darby of Shelburne Falls, Melanie Poirier of Agawam, his longtime companion and best friend, Debbie Dore of Feeding Hills and her children, Christopher Dore, Jr., Nicholas Dore, Katie Dore all of Agawam, a brother, Gary Holmes of Enfield, his grandchildren, Michael Grimaldi, Randy Holmes, Jr., Ashley Grimaldi, Kyle Gokey, Bryanna Gokey, Kristin Holmes, Abigail Savageau, Aeryianna Bramlett, Amelya Bramlett, Landon Gonzalez, Madden Bramlett, nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jose, Michael and many other relatives and friends.  A service in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 9am.
