Richard E. Lewis, 77, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 23, 2023 in Baystate Medical Center.  Born in Panama City, FL, he moved to Massachusetts in 1992 and settled in South Hadley.  Richard worked for the United States Postal Service and retired from the bulk mail center in Springfield.  He was a Navy veteran and then transferred to the Coast Guard attaining the rank of Petty Officer during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed making model cars, watching TV and was a fire arms enthusiast.  His wife, Gwenn (Williams) Lewis died in 2022.  He leaves three sons, Arin Lewis of Westhampton, Jeremy Lewis and Matthew Lewis both of South Hadley, a brother, James Hoover of Massachusetts, two grandchildren, Ree Lewis and Andrew Lewis and nieces and nephews.  All services are private and the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge.
