Richard J. Michel, 97, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 28, 2021.  Born in Washington, DC, on April 27, 1924, son of the late Oliver and Anis (Scheidell) Michel, he also lived in New York City, Chicago, Miami, FL and Hollywood, CA.  He attended Adelphi University for 2 years and then transferred to New York University where he graduated.  Richard worked as a market research manager for most of his working life at International Business Machines.  He enjoyed tennis, golf, bowling and boxing, as well as watching old movies.  He was also an army veteran of World War II.  His wife, Aud Sofie (Kvelland) Michel died at age 52 on June 10, 1990.  He leaves a daughter, Susan Michel, a son-in-law, Joseph Zuffelato both of Agawam, MA, a 2nd daughter Jacqueline Michel, a son-in-law Joseph J. Sliwkowski, Jr., and two grandchildren Aidan Michael Sliwkowski and Ani Michel Sliwkowski, all of Boxborough, MA.  The service will be Friday, November 5, 2021 at 9am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam.
