WEST SPRINGFIELD – Richard F. Perry Sr., 82, of Larivee Lane died Monday at home surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born in Feeding Hills, grew up in West Springfield, graduating from West Springfield High School in 1949 and has lived here all his life. He owned and operated Perry Oil Company, Perry Auto Supply and Valley Machine & Knife Company in West Springfield. He was a Sergeant for the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, a longtime member of the West Springfield Rotary Club, the Republican Town Committee. He also served as the Chairman of the West Springfield Finance Committee and belonged to the Springfield Country Club. He leaves his longtime companion of 34 years Carolyn E. Apps; five children Richard F. Perry Jr., Kyle Perry, David Perry all of West Springfield, Val Perry of Westfield and Candy Branco of Wilbraham; a brother Herbert; a sister Jean Bradley; five grandchildren Jennifer, Megan, Kayla, Gianna, Nico; his former wife Constance Simpson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Neil and a grandson Jason. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 11:00am followed by burial in Paucatuck Cemetery.
