Richard "Dick" Simone Sr. 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on August 8, 2021. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on February 8, 1933 and lived most of his life in West Springfield. He was an unparalleled sign and billboard painter who worked for several local sign shops before opening Custom Signs in West Springfield. The happiest time of his life was when he was a motocross racer. He inherited his love for two wheels from his father and passed that love on to his sons, grandsons and great-grandsons.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank Simone and Eunice Lewis, son Steven, half-sister Sandy, and his former wife, Patricia Gibson, the mother of his five children. He leaves his longtime partner Gloria Paape, half siblings Mary, Elaine, Lorrie and Bobby, sons Richard Simone Jr. and his wife Peggy of Quincy, David Simone and his wife Joy of West Springfield, Doug Simone and his wife Clarissa of Westfield and daughter Carol Simone of Springfield. He leaves several grandchildren whom he adored Chad "Champ" Simone and wife Amy, Annah Simone, Jacob Simone, Austin Simone and wife Sophia, Corbin Simone, Colby Simone, Dylan McCarl, Ian McCarl, Bailey Simone Wagner and husband Phil, and Chase Simone and wife Becca. Great-grandchildren Rainna, Trevor and Sam Simone, Violet and Henry Wagner.

There will be a graveside service at the convenience of family. If so inclined, memorial contribution may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
