1914-2013
WEST SPRINGFIELD-Rita M. (Fossa) Collins, 98, died Friday in Quaboag Nursing Center. She was born in Springfield, lived most of her life in West Springfield before moving to Palmer 38 years ago. She was communicant of the former St. Ann's Church and was a teacher in the Southwick School system. Her husband Russell Collins died in 1961. She leaves a daughter Catherine Cook of Ware, four grandchildren Glennis Lovell of Sturbridge, Stephanie Kane-Demers of Albuquerque, NM, Mick Burns of Monterey and Justin Cook of Ware and three great grandchildren Rachael Lovell, Kane Demers and Jacoby Cook. The funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 am in St. Frances Church in West Springfield followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. No calling hours.
