Rita M. (Dagesse) Desnoyers

1931 – 2019

Boynton Beach, FL -  Rita Marguerite Desnoyers, 87 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed  peacefully at home on July 23, 2019. Rita was born on Oct.2,1931 to the late Neree & Marie (Gendron) Dagesse. She attended grade school at St. Thomas Aquinas & graduated from Cathedral Highschool  in 1950. She worked for The Fire Marine Insurance Co. in Springfield, MA where she met her future husband. They were married in 1954 & in 1962 started the JMJ Easy Vacuum Co. Rita spoke fluent French & enjoyed playing the piano. She belonged to the St. Michael's Women's Club of East Longmeadow, Ma. She was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary daily alongside her husband. They lived in E.Longmeadow & Spfld,Ma. until they retired to Florida in 1992. She leaves behind her four children. Daniel Desnoyers & his wife Linda of W.Spfld, Ma, Donald Desnoyers,  Marie Anderson & her husband Kurt, Lisa Desnoyers, all of Boynton Beach, Florida, a  half-sister Aline Potvin of Swansea, Ma, her 11 grandchildren & 4 Great-Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. In her later years,  Rita was lovingly  cared for by a small handful of loyal & dedicated personal aides who became like family to her. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, strength all the while carrying herself with dignity, spunk & grace. She was predeceased by her husband Girard R. Desnoyers, brother John P. Dagesse & two half-brothers Albert & Richard Dagesse & half-sister Lorraine . Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 – 9:00pm.  Family and friends are invited to meet at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield Saturday at 11:00 for the Liturgy followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
