Obituary

West Springfield-Robert L. Campurciani Sr., 91, died Friday at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Lewiston, ME and has lived in West Springfield all his life. He was the General Sales Manager for General Baking Company and later managed the Raymond Baking Company. He served in WWII as a Sergeant during the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. He received the; Combat Action Ribbon; European African Campaign Medal; Army Occupation Medal; German Victory Medal; Army Meritorious Unit Citation; World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member and past President of the Greater Springfield Council of Churches and member and longtime financial officer of the First United Methodist Church. He leaves his wife Carolyn (Lyles) Campurciani, two sons Robert Campurciani Jr. and Ronald Campurciani and his wife Delilah of West Springfield, a daughter Gloria Nataloni and her husband Curio of Wilbraham, a sister Diane Houser of FL, a brother-in-law Richard McClean of Agawam, four grandchildren Elena Levesque, Michael Nataloni, Kayce Campurciani and Meadow Campurciani and two great grandchildren Jack and Ava. He was predeceased by his brothers Albert and Lawrence and sisters Frances and Evelyn Campurciani and Betty McClean. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am at the Mittineague United Methodist Church followed by committal services with Military Honors at the Mass Veteran's Cemetery. Calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
