Robert F. Girard, 87, died Thursday in a local nursing home. He was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield since 1992. He was retired from Mass Mutual and served in the Army from 1946 until 1965. He leaves his siblings James, Phillip and Ronald Girard, Florence Brittain and Alice Girard. He also leaves a dear friend Marie Sidelinker. A committal service will be Tuesday at 1pm in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
