WEST SPRINGFIELD – Robert E. Hartig, 81 of Piper Road died Tuesday at home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Springfield the son of the late Edward and Jennie (O'Brien) Hartig. He has lived in West Springfield all his life. A graduate of West Springfield High School and Western New England College, he worked as an accountant at Agway, Inc. for 37 years and at Standard Services, Inc. for nine years. He leaves three sisters Alice Malone, Caroline Dion both of West Springfield and Elizabeth Polastry of Kyle, TX and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00am. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
