Obituary

Robert A. Klekotka, Sr., 76, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, son of the late Julian and Anna (Hodak) Klekotka, he was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and a 1957 graduate of South Hadley High School. Robert was a Massachusetts State Trooper, graduating from the Massachusetts State Police Academy in Framingham, retiring in 1988 after twenty years of service. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He leaves his wife of fifty-five years, Ann L. (Plourde) Klekotka, a son, Robert A. Klekotka, Jr., of Ludlow, three daughters, Debra A. Pouliot and her husband Glenn of South Hadley, Pamela A. Greaney of Springfield, Lisa A. Klekotka of South Hadley, a sister, Cecile Swikalus of Westfield, seven grandchildren, Benn, Sarah and Sam Pouliot, Shelby-Lynn Klekotka, Molly, Mary-Ellen and Morgan Greaney and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Chester Klekotka, Casimir Klekotka, and five sisters, Josephine Cisek, Jennie Bartusewich, Julia Obuchowski, Ilene Nolan and Sophie Ratkiewicz. The funeral will be Friday at 9am from the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley with a Mass at 10 in St. Patrick's Church, South Hadley Falls. The burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7pm.
