Robert W. Mabey

1947 – 2017

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Robert W. Mabey, 69, died Saturday in a local nursing home.  Robert was born in Gardner, grew up in Athol and has lived most of his life in West Springfield.  A retired Machine Operator for the Southworth Paper Company and Ditek Company, he also volunteered at the Amelia Ferst Skating Rink in Westfield.  Robert was a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.  He leaves his mother Mary Mabey; a daughter Melissa and her children and a brother Leon.  A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Park Cemetery Thursday at noon.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
