Robert F. Noret Sr.

West Springfield – Robert F. "Chief" Noret Sr., 80, died Friday in Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bob was the youngest of nine children born in Springfield to the late Charles and Anna Noret. He has lived in West Springfield his entire life. He started working at the age of 16 for the Breck Corporation and retired after 41 years from American Cyanamid in 1993. He loved spending time in the garage and always left the door open, welcoming everyone with a smile and a Bud Light. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves behind his beautiful, caring wife of 52 years Judith (Ryan) Noret, their beloved children Sharon Fortini and her husband Steven, Robert Noret Jr., and Susan Paul and their wonderful grandchildren Nicholas and Vincent Fortini and Erica and Zachary Paul. He also leaves his oldest brother Anthony Noret. Besides his parents and seven siblings he was predeceased by a son-in-law Alan Paul. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 11am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7pm.
