WEST SPRINGFIELD-Robert J. Russell Jr., 30, died January 1, 2011. He was born in Holyoke and grew up in West Springfield and Southwick. He worked as an apprentice carpenter and was an avid Red Sox and football fan. He leaves a daughter Amy N. Russell of Westfield, his mother Mary E. Hurley of Westfield, three brothers, Michael R. Russell of West Springfield and Brian P. Hurley and Sean C. Hurley, both of Westfield, his sister Amy E. Russell of Springfield and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a loving father, son, brother and uncle of three nephews and one niece who will be sadly missed. The calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 6:30 pm at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home. The committal service in St. Thomas Cemetery will be Monday at 1 pm.
