Robert "Bruce" Simpson, Sr., 81, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at home.  Born in Holyoke, son of the late John and Barbara (Mitchell) Simpson, he was a 1960 graduate of West Springfield High School.  Bruce was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving for ten years.  He then worked for Verizon for thirty-one years, before his retirement in 2001. He was also an avid Harley enthusiast, and was the historian for the Harley Club that was in Easthampton.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly Frances Simpson on May 22, 2023. He leaves his wife of forty-six years, Ann Maureen (Pendergast) Simpson, a son, Robert B. Simpson, Jr., of Westfield, two sisters, Virginia Leap of Florida, Judith Simpson of West Springfield, a nephew, Kevin Leap, and several cousins.  All services are private and the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home is in charge.
