Obituary

Robert Tassinari

1936 – 2019

WEST SPRINGFIELD - Robert "Bob" Tassinari, 82, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.  Bob was the son of the late John and Leontina Tassinari.  He was born in Springfield and lived most of his life in West Springfield.  He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years Kathleen (Romanski) Tassinari, brother Walter Tassinari and his wife Rita, two nephews John Tassinari and his wife Noreen, Steven Tassinari and his wife Gina and three great nephews Matthew, Robert, and Michael Tassinari.  In addition, he leaves his mother-in-law Helen Romanski and sister-in law Albina Romanski.  He was a proud veteran and enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1955 through 1957.  After graduating from AIC, he taught school in Ludlow.  He then changed his career and graduated from Portia Law School in 1968. He practiced law in Springfield and West Springfield for 49 years, and served as West Springfield Town Counsel for several years.  Bob was a member of the National Ski Patrol at the Mt. Tom Ski Area for 32 years.  An avid sports fan, you would hear Bob "cheering" very loudly for his Red Sox or Patriots.  His favorite pastime was golfing, where his patience was put to the test!  He also enjoyed playing cards after the golfing season was over. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially on Sunday.  Bob appreciated good food, fine wine and treasured time traveling with his wife, Kathy.  A special Thank You for all the tender care that he received from Lauriece, Stella and the rest of the staff of Beacon Hospice.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday, April 23, at 9 am with liturgy at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10 am, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westfield.  Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Sr. Mary Caritas Cancer Center, c/o Mercy Hospital, or the Beacon Hospice, 815 Worcester Street, Springfield, MA  01151.
