Roger L. Dudeck

1934 – 2019

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Roger L. Dudeck, 84 died Wednesday surrounded by his loving family.  Roger was born in Springfield, the son of the late Joseph and Nellie (MacIver) Dudeck.  He was a graduate of Technical High School and received his bachelor's degree from A.I.C.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Upon discharge from the Army, began working for Liberty Cash Register, which he later owned and operated for 44 years.  After retirement Roger worked part-time as a driver with Century Limousine.  He was a member and past President of  the A.I.C. Varsity Club and the Galaxy Community Council and was active with the American Legion Post #420.  Most of all, Roger loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren's sporting and theater events.  He leaves his wife of 59 years Shirley (Mann) Dudeck; three children Steven Dudeck and his wife Erin, Karen Dudeck, Julie Ruby and her former husband Robert; a sister Joan DeGiacomo and six grandchildren, Ciara, Keegan, Tighe, Rory, Michael and Madison.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday, June 20 th at 10:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Thursday from 9:00 – 10:00am.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Parish Cupboard, Main Street, West Springfield or the American Cancer Society.
