1953 – 2014

FEEDING HILLS – Roger A. Hocking, 60, of Feeding Hills died Saturday, with his wife by his side, at the Fisher House in Amherst. Roger was born in Wallingford, CT the son of Gloria (Germain) Hocking and the late Roger L. Hocking. He grew up in Wallingford and graduated from Central CT. State College. After he got married, he lived in Westfield, Phoenix, Colorado Springs and Merrimack, NH, where he raised his children, before moving to Agawam a few years ago. He was a retired Business Analyst for Hewlett-Packard. Roger was a kind, generous person, always looking out for others and enjoyed the outdoors, birding, fishing, hunting and gardening. He leaves his loving wife Eileen (Jaeger) Hocking; two sons Daniel and his wife Lesley of Dover, NH and Thomas Hocking of Chicopee and his granddaughter Annalisse. He also leaves his mother Gloria Hocking, brother Brian and his wife Kyong Ok; a sister Shawn Winberg and her husband John; ten brother and sister-in-laws; 24 nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Roger L. Hocking and a brother Gary Hocking. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 9:30 followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westfield. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
