Ronald Paul Camp Sr. of West Springfield passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 11, 2024. He was born in Springfield on July 4, 1937, the son of Paskel and Carrie (Maynard) Camp. He lived in West Springfield his entire life. He was a Korean War veteran in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Yosemite. Once home, he worked on the family farm and was a tin knocker until he found his true passion as a West Springfield Police Officer. In 1966, he was appointed to the Crime Prevention Bureau and was recognized by the Attorney General in Boston. He never stopped talking about his time in the department or the fellow officers he worked with. Ronald was the beloved husband of Josephine (Buoniconti) Camp for 63 years, the loving father of Lisa Henry of Northborough MA and her husband David, Lori Hinds and her husband Brian of Westfield MA, Ronald Camp Jr. and his wife Marion of Westfield, and devoted grandfather to Nicole Henry, Taylor Henry, Jonathan Camp, Kyle Hinds, Connor Henry, Victoria Camp and Jordan Hinds. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday, April 16th starting at 12:30 and concluding with a funeral home service at 2:00pm followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
