Obituary

Ronald R. Raffenetti, 82 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Springfield, son of the late John and Marion Raffenetti, he grew up in Springfield and was a graduate of Trade High School.  He attended Western New England College and went on to have a long career as an electrician for Local 7 of the IBEW. He was also an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He loved playing softball, racquetball, bocce, cribbage and pitch, and enjoyed spending time with countless friends at The Dante Club, Powers Cafe and The Scoreboard discussing his beloved Red Sox and Patriots.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Raffenetti. He leaves his loving partner, Virginia Gannon, his two children, Nicole Raffenetti and her husband John Kusler, his son, Joe Raffenetti and his wife Margot as well as his beloved grandchildren.  Every night he would say their names and pray for their health and happiness: Harley, Jack, Cole, Jake and Tyler.  He also leaves his two sisters, Beverly Prindle and Carol Jorge, his former wife, Mary (Miller) Raffenetti, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Tuesday September 30, 2025, from 4-7pm at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield.  A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 11:30am at St Thomas Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
