Pocasset – It is with profound sorrow that his family shares the unexpected passing of Ronald F. Viens, 68, on July 18, 2017 at his home in Pocasset, MA. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Susan (Lodigiani) Viens, his children, whom he considered his greatest accomplishment, Ronald Viens II an his wife Lynn of Agawam, Carrie Milliken and her husband Scott of Agawam and Tracey Martin and her husband Robert of East Longmeadow. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Ashlee and her spouse Kelly, Zach, Joe, Cassidy, Abbey, Jacob, Liz and Isabella. He also leaves behind his sisters, Vicki Fontana, Nancy Comee, Linda Comee, Donna Viens and Pam Largay. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Marie Viens and his daughter-in-law Donna Viens. Most of his adult life, Ron was a self-employed mason in the Agawam area and took immense pride in his craft. He spent the past ten years thoroughly enjoying his "retirement career" at Upper Cape Tech mentoring kids and working with one of his dearest friends, Roger. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed wonderful times at his hunting cabin in Vermont, with his son, grandsons, nephews and closest friends. His favorite past times included cooking and bragging about his grandkids. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 9:00am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church, Feeding Hills at 10:00am. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
