WESTFIELD – Rose E. Daviau, 87, of Thomas Street died Thursday surrounded by her family. Rose was born in Springfield and grew up in Agawam and Southwick. She lived in West Springfield for many years before moving to Westfield in 1984. A longtime member of the First Congregational Church in West Springfield, she sang in the choir and worked as a secretary at the church until her retirement in 1991. Rose belonged to Sweet Adelines International and sang with the Golden Blue Ribbon Singers in West Springfield. She was predeceased by two husbands Wendell Bowie in 1949 and Armand E. Daviau in 1999. She is survived by her son Richard Bowie and his wife Cheryl of Arkville, NY; a daughter Teresa Neill and her partner Kathleen Bilodeau of Manchester, NH; five grandchildren, Brenda, Pamela, Amy, Amanda and Meghan; seven great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. The funeral will be held at the First Congregational Church Tuesday at 11:00am with spring burial in New Cemetery in Southwick. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
