Rose H. (Tatro) Emerson, 83, formerly of Chicopee, died Monday in a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family. Rose enjoyed bingo, cards and made countless friends throughout her years camping in Monson. Rose was born in Springfield, MA on September 1, 1932, daughter of the late Doris (Foisy) and Paul Tatro. Her husband Melvin T. Emerson predeceased her on March 6, 2000. She leaves three sons, Albert Dean (Carole) of Bowie, MD, Edward Dean (Nicole) of Feeding Hills, MA and Thomas Emerson (Karen) of Indian Orchard, MA, her nine grandchildren Alex, Allison, and Peter Dean; Andrew and Timothy Dean; Darlene, Matthew, Sarah, and Grace Emerson. She was also predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Francis, Raymond, Paul, and Edward; sisters Joan, Helen, Phyllis, Doris, Irene, Shirley, and Laura. The family would like to thank Heritage Hall and Keystone Assisted Living for the wonderful care and support given to Rose. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held Saturday prior to the service from 10 am to 12 noon.
