Rosemarie
Remillard
January 15, 1937 – November 29, 2025
Rosemarie (Giordano) Remillard, 88, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, January 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Mary A. (Maloni) Giordano. Rosemarie grew up in the south-end of Springfield, before moving to Agawam in 1950, where she was a 1955 graduate of Agawam High School. She married Leo P. Remillard in 1956 and settled into her parent's home on 340 Silver Street, Agawam, adjacent to the family farm, Malone's Farm & Garden, where she worked alongside family for many years picking and packaging vegetables for market while raising her daughter.
For twenty-three years she served the Town of Agawam as Head Clerk in the Collectors Office. Upon retirement in 2004, she pursued her passion for travel exploring countless bakeries and gift shops along the way with Leo, and her beloved cousin Beverly Malone Ladizki and Dave. Her most memorable family trips were yearly summer visits to Cape Cod with a special church trip to Italy following her retirement.
Nothing pleased her more than to serve her home-baked pastries and Italian dishes to her many friends and family who stopped by, especially on Sundays where they were treated to her delicious meatballs. In addition to her passion for baking and cooking, she loved to shop, read, knit, sew and spend time around the table with family.
She was a woman of a great faith and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She leaves nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends she met during her work within the Town of Agawam. Rosemarie was a hardworking, loving, thoughtful selfless person who lived her life as Christian faith denotes.
She was predeceased by her husband Leo on October 25, 2009. She leaves behind her loving daughter Annmarie and her husband John LaZazzera of Agawam, with whom she lived, her two grandsons who were the light of her life, Jeffrey L. LaZazzera and his fiancé, Kristie Robinson and Christopher J. LaZazzera, and two great-grand kitties, Miles and Barron.
The family would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to caregivers who were like family over the past six months, Heidi Valley, Sue Gonthier, Jessa Drake, Lisa Dashnaw, and Addie Cuadro.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass at 11am at St. John the Evangelist Church. The burial will follow in Agawam Center Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104
