Obituary

SPRINGFIELD-Roy E. Bennett, 91, died Saturday at the Soldier's Home in Holyoke. He was born in Springfield and lived here all his life. He worked 32 years for Northern Tool Manufacturing Company as a tool and die maker. Roy also worked at the Springfield Armory and Indian Motorcycle. He was an Army veteran of WWII, stationed in England before serving in France, the Ardennes in Belgium and Germany. He attended Bethany Assembly of God and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was predeceased by his wife Anita (Penney) Bennett in 1991. Roy leaves a son Ronald E. Bennett of Southwick, two daughters Sandra L. Wroblicki of Springfield and Carolyn Hurt of Palmer, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson Christopher Phillips and a granddaughter Jenifer Brodowski. The funeral will be Wednesday at Bethany Assembly of God starting with a calling hour from 9:00 to 10:00 am followed by his service at 10:00 am. Burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
