Russell W. Fish
1931 – 2015

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Russell W. Fish entered into eternal life on Saturday May 30, 2015. He was born at home in West Springfield, the son of Ruth and Benjamin Fish and graduated from American International College. After which he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, at which time he received the Defense Service Medal. He retired from International Paper Company of Westfield, also known as Strathmore Paper Company and served as the Purchasing Manager and Controller for many years. He played Baseball, Basketball and Football for the West Springfield High School and later played Baseball for A.I.C. The game of golf in later years was his passion. He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of West Springfield. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Benjamin. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Susan E. (Brassard) Fish. He also leaves his loving children, Suzanne Fish, Barbara Aubrey and her husband Michael, Laura Johnson, Janet Hulseberg and her husband Kevin, Lynn Merges and her husband David and Lorrie Sweeney. He is also survived by his sister, Blanche Withee and her husband Donald and leaves behind ten grandchildren, two great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed by his entire family. A service will be held in the chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10:00am.
